The Nebraska Community Foundation serves 220 community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds in 238 communities located in 79 Nebraska counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $138.6 million in Nebraska since 1993.

Doug is responsible for developing new and existing affiliated funds, working with more than 1,000 fund advisory committee members. Doug helps community decision-makers develop strategies for using charitable gifts to improve quality of life, enhance economic development and build community capacity.
A lifelong Nebraskan, Doug enjoys living in Nebraska City and working in small towns with volunteers and nonprofit organizations in rural Nebraska. He has served as a volunteer board member for the Lyons Community Foundation, the Nebraska City Community Foundation Fund and the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center Foundation. He has served as a director of the Nebraska United Methodist Foundation and the Southeast Community College Foundation.
Prior to joining NCF in 2002, Doug was a community banker for 34 years. He was President and CEO of Otoe County Bank in Nebraska City and First National Bank in Lyons, Nebraska. Doug grew up in Milford, Nebraska and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. He graduated from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking. Doug taught numerous courses for the Nebraska Bankers Association and the American Institute of Banking.
Ron and Judy are longtime supporters of the Nebraska Community Foundation. Ron served as NCF Board member and Chair from 1997-2006 and continues to provide guidance through his involvement as an Honorary Board member. Judy began her first term on the Board in November 2010.
Ron used a Charitable IRA Rollover to make a major contribution to the Ford Challenge Grant campaign. The Charitable IRA Rollover law, which expired December 31, 2011, allowed those age 70½ and older to transfer funds from an IRA to a charity tax free.
