The Nebraska Community Foundation serves 220 community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds in 238 communities located in 79 Nebraska counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $138.6 million in Nebraska since 1993.

Jim provides a wide range of supportive charitable gift planning services for donors and professional advisors. He uses a three-step process to help donors achieve their charitable objectives. The first step is helping people to determine the use of their charitable gift. Secondly he provides educational information of the various charitable gift options that are available. Finally he provides assistance to people and their professional advisors in implementing their gift plans.
For the past 30 years Jim has worked in various areas of estate and financial planning. He has served on the planned giving staffs of the University of Nebraska Foundation and The Salvation Army.
Jim consults and lectures on various topics related to charitable gift planning and fundraising. He has led workshops for financial advisors and volunteers throughout the state of Nebraska and in several other states. He has been a speaker at the National Conference on Planned Giving. Currently, Jim serves as president of the Nebraska Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.
Jim and his wife, Terri, have three daughters and three sons-in-law. Jim grew up in Ralston, Nebraska, and his wife Terri is a native of Burwell, Nebraska.
With fewer than 700 people in the area it serves, the Thedford Community Foundation Fund has built an endowment of almost $200,000 in a few short years and made grants of nearly $40,000. It also has secured more than $150,000 in planned gifts.
