Entrusting the Next Generation
Due to reduced state aid, the Norfolk school district was unable to fund its High Achievers summer classes in 2011. Thanks to the Connie Endowment Fund, children were able to participate through an alternative Summer Arts Challenge at the Norfolk Arts Center. Teacher Mary Haas helps Isaiah Roemhildt during the third and fourth-grade “Mobiles” class at the Norfolk Arts Center.

Taking Action in Northeast Nebraska
Community leaders in northeast Nebraska commissioned an NCF survey of 1,833 students from 15 communities to measure youth perceptions about their community, future education and career plans, and their desire to live in the region in the future. The survey was funded by the Connie Fund in Norfolk and the Nebraska Community Foundation.
