Eustis Childcare Facility Gives Families Peace of Mind

Eustis

Eustis Childcare Facility Gives Families Peace of Mind

Kinder Haus Childcare Center is the only daycare facility in Eustis, Nebraska (population 401).  Before the non-profit Kinder Haus Childcare Center opened in 2006, there were no daycare options for Eustis families, not even home-based centers.

Kinder House Director, Lisa Pleschourt, explains that “[prior to the opening of Kinder Haus] families were traveling 15 to 30 miles from home to get care for their children. And even then, it’s hard to find care for both infants and older children.  What is wonderful is that now brothers and sisters can stay together. The older kids can come before and after school, and it’s right in their hometown.” .

The mission of the Center is to provide services to young families so that they will be able to continue to live and work in the Eustis area says Pleschort.  The availability of high-quality childcare services in Eustis is essential to the long-term economic vitality of the community and region.

“And it’s a big relief for working mothers who are trying to get themselves to work on time, and make sure their children are well cared for. It really helps give these working moms peace of mind. I know. I was a single mom,” says Pleschourt.

The Eustis Community Foundation Fund and The WealthSpring Fund have provided grants for Kinder Haus Childcare Center to serve families in southwest Nebraska.
