Donate to “McCook Community Foundation Fund”

Description

The mission of the McCook Community Foundation Fund is to enrich the quality of life in the McCook area by:

Supporting and strengthening local non-profit organizations; providing innovative ways for donors to benefit their community; identifying needs and making grants in areas of education, art, culture, human services, recreation and civic improvements; participating in partnerships with other community groups; building endowments to help meet future community needs.

McCook Community Foundation Fund has helped fund several key projects, including:  McCook Elementary PTO playground equipment, McCook Senior Center, youth sports and recreation, Heritage Square, McCook YMCA Endowment Fund, Hillcrest Nursing Home Endowment Fund, Prairie Plains Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the McCook Senior High/YMCA Diving Board project.

Several of these initial grants were made possible by the formation of the “Founders” group, which allowed founding members to contribute $1,000 for seed money to form the Foundation.  Their gifts could be made over three years and nearly 50 donors have become Founders.  Special recognition will be given to all donors who give $1,000.

As an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, all contributions to the McCook Community Foundation Fund are tax-deductible. The Nebraska Community Foundation is confirmed in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, and has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards of operational quality, integrity and accountability.
