Bennet Area Community Foundation Fund
The Bennet Area Community Foundation Fund (BACFF) is dedicated to the improvement and long-term viability of our community and the surrounding area.
The Bennet Area Community Foundation Fund encourages people from all walks of life to give back to their community by providing a full range of gift opportunities. A volunteer Fund Advisory Committee works actively to increase charitable giving and award grants to worthwhile organizations that are addressing the emerging needs and future opportunities in our community.
The Bennet Area Community Foundation Fund enhances the quality of life and helps create new opportunities in the Bennet area by:
- Supporting and strengthening local nonprofit organizations
- Providing innovative ways for donors to benefit their community
- Identifying needs and making grants in our community
- Participating in partnerships with other community groups
As an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, all contributions to the Bennet Area Community Foundation Fund are tax-deductible. The Nebraska Community Foundation is confirmed in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, and has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards of operational quality, integrity and accountability.
Current Projects:
Raising money to purchase and install playground equipment at the south Bennet Ball Field.
Currently, there is no place (except an adjacent creek) for children not involved in the ball teams to play during the games. Safe and attractive equipment will provide a play area for siblings and friends of ball players, from the Bennet area and from visiting teams. We are partnering with the Village of Bennet and the Bennet Ball Club for this project.
Playground equipment will be installed at the south Bennet Ball field grounds as soon as weather allows.
Future Recreation Projects:
New and expanded facilities for activities for all age groups in the Bennet area. There are several groups working to develop “wish and needs lists” to present to the Fund Advisory Committee for further consideration.
Completed Projects:
Post Office Building Renovation
The BACFF collected over $5,000 to assist the Village in renovating the Post Office Building. The money was presented in February; in May 2011, a plaque naming those honored with memorial contributions was presented and mounted in the building.

The Fund Advisory Committee determines how the money generated from the endowment will be used to benefit the community now and in the future.
