
The Butler County Area Foundation Fund’s (formerly the David City Area Foundation Fund) mission is to enhance the quality of life for all people in the Butler County Area through the use of contributed funds entrusted to its stewardship.
The Butler County Area Foundation Fund awards grants in support of public and private services. The purpose of these grants is to provide funding for community projects that will enhance the long-term success and quality of life of the community.
The Fund seeks applications that address strategic community development efforts which lead to population growth, job creation, wealth creation and retention, and increased leadership capacity. These efforts may include support for local entrepreneurs who are starting, growing or transitioning businesses; strategies to involve youth and attract young families; programs to develop and strengthen local leadership; building community capacity including workforce development, and educational efforts to create an awareness of the need for additional contributions to the Butler County Area Foundation Fund.
As an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, all contributions to the Butler County Area Foundation Fund are tax-deductible. The Nebraska Community Foundation Fund is confirmed in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, and has met the nation’s highest philanthropic standards of operational quality, integrity and accountability.

To raise money to maintain and renovate the Community Center in Bellwood, Nebraska.
The Butler County Area Foundation Fund invites you to join the outstanding members of the Builder’s Club by investing in the future of the Butler County area with a gift of $1,000 or more.
To benefit graduating high school students, and possibly non-traditional students, pursuing education in a medical field, residing in the Butler County Area.
To support the Senior Center in David City which provides noon meals, activities and opportunities for social interaction for retired citizens of the community.
An endowment established by Charles and Grace Stoops to supplement the Butler County Area Foundation Fund unrestricted endowment account.
To provide scholarships for graduates of David City High School or Aquinas High School who plan to study agriculture or environmental studies.
To provide college scholarships to high school graduates in the David City area.
To provide college scholarships to high school graduates in the David City area and support to the David City Public School.
To provide scholarships to graduates of David City Public High School who will attend college in Nebraska, in memory of Doris and Herman Ball, lifelong residents of Butler County.
An account used by the local Fund Advisory Committee to support and maintain the affiliated fund’s activities within the community.
To provide support for HomeTown Competitiveness (HTC) in Butler County. HTC is a come back-give back approach. Efforts may include support for local entrepreneurs who are starting, growing or transitioning businesses; strategies to involve youth and attract young families; programs to develop and strengthen local leadership; building community capacity including workforce development, and educational efforts.
An unrestricted endowment named for the late Jack and Betty Tarr to support community betterment as determined by the BCAF Fund Advisory Committee. Past grants from this fund supported the HTC leadership classes, youth, entrepreneurship and education.
To provide college scholarships to high school graduates in the David City area.
Established by Mr. Henry Cox in honor of his wife, Queene Fox, a 1899 David City High School graduate. Earnings are used to support musical endeavors of David City High School students and to provide scholarships to musically talented graduates of David City High School.
To provide college scholarships to high school graduates in the David City area.
A permanent account whose assets are invested to generate an ongoing source of income year after year. Investment earnings from the endowment are used to support community improvements and programs. The Fund Advisory Committee determines how the money generated from the endowment will be used to benefit the community now and in the future.
The Harold Zinnecker Music Scholarship Fund was established through gifts made in memory of Mr. Zinnecker. The purpose of this account is to provide scholarships for David City High School students interested in pursuing vocal music careers or becoming music teachers.
