The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving 254 communities located in 78 counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $222.7 million in Nebraska since 1994.
The purpose of the Every Woman Matters Foundation Fund is to remove barriers to breast and cervical cancer care for Nebraska women. The fund provides grants to community-based partner organizations that offer education, referral assistance and counseling to help women access the screening, treatment and survivorship services they need. Our partner organizations work one-on-one with women to identify and develop plans to meet their most pressing needs, reducing the emotional stress that can hinder follow-through and long-term survivorship.
Our partner organizations can award financial assistance to women based on each unique situation to help pay for transportation, nutritional needs, housing and utilities, medical bills, childcare or other expenses identified as barriers to care. Assistance typically does not exceed $500. Partner organizations distribute funds according to their own internal policies and provide quarterly reports to the Foundation Fund on expenditures and impact.
