The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving 254 communities located in 78 counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $222.7 million in Nebraska since 1994.
The Every Woman Matters Foundation Fund partners with established community-based organizations to provide individualized counseling, referral assistance, case management services and financial assistance to help Every Woman Matters Program patients diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer obtain and complete timely recommended treatment. Our partner organizations work one-on-one with each patient to identify their most pressing needs and develop plans to meet those needs, reducing the emotional stress that can hinder long-term survivorship.
Direct financial assistance awarded to individual clients is based on each unique situation and typically does not exceed $500. Financial assistance can be used for transportation, nutritional needs, housing and utilities, medical bills, childcare or other expenses identified by patients and partner organizations as barriers to care. Partner organizations distribute funds to patients according to their own internal policies and provide quarterly reports to the Foundation Fund on expenditures and impact. The individualized counseling, referral, and case management services provided by Fund partner organizations are considered to be the primary benefit for patients, far exceeding the value of any monetary award.
