The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving more than 250 communities located in 80 Nebraska counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $163 million in Nebraska since 1993.

The purpose of the O’Neill Community Foundation Fund is to increase community-based endowed assets, with future grants being awarded from the proceeds of endowments.
The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund encourages people from all walks of life to give back to their community by providing a full range of gift opportunities. A volunteer Fund Advisory Committee works actively to increase charitable giving and award grants to worthwhile organizations that are addressing the emerging needs and future opportunities in our community.
The O’Neill Community Foundation Fund is building an unrestricted endowment fund. Earnings from the endowment will be used to support specific activities that will improve our community and economic prospects and encourage our young people to stay in or return to O’Neill.

To maintain the green shamrock painted on the public street at the main intersection of downtown O’Neill. This shamrock is to commemorate the annual celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in O’Neill, the Irish Capital of Nebraska.

The Fund Advisory Committee determines how the money generated from the endowment will be used to benefit the community now and in the future.
