The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving 250 communities located in 80 counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $269 million in Nebraska since 1994.

Notices and Reminders
Back by popular demand! Coming to a town near you!
Start the new year with new ideas for making your affiliated fund more successful than ever! Attend one of the nine Affiliated Fund Regional Meetings sponsored by the Nebraska Community Foundation and learn from your fellow affiliated fund leaders and NCF staff.
Please register online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NCF_regional_meeting_registration. There is no cost to register. The deadline for registration is one week before each meeting, but we appreciate your registering as soon as possible. All members of your Fund Advisory Committee are welcome to attend, so feel free to forward this email if you’re not sure that all your FAC members are on NCF’s email list.
Regional Meetings are a great way to network with Fund Advisory Committee members from nearby communities and hone your skills. You will be able to:
After you register, you’ll be asked to complete a brief, two-question survey that will help us better prepare to meet your affiliated fund’s needs with meeting content. We are also asking each affiliated fund to prepare a short oral report to present at the meeting. Details of that “homework” assignment are included in the survey.
We hope to see you at one that works best for you!

Finding and Engaging Young Leaders
Affiliated Fund Webinar – January 12
Many affiliated fund leaders tell us their Fund Advisory Committees could use some young blood. But how do you recruit and retain young people? During this session, you will explore the differences and the similarities among Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millenials, and learn how to engage young people—in fact, people of all ages—in the work of your affiliated fund. An intergenerational panel of affiliated fund leaders will share their stories and experiences in working together for their communities.
Affiliated Fund Leader Presenters will include:
| Judy Brockmeier
Eustis Area Community Foundation Fund
Nebraska Community Foundation Board Member
| K.C. Belitz
Columbus Area Community Foundation Fund
Nebraska Community Foundation Board Member
| David Partsch
Nebraska City Community Foundation Fund
The webinar will be presented twice on January 12th, once at 12:30pm CT (11:30am MT) and again at 5:30pm CT (4:30pm MT). Each presentation will last up to one hour.

Change to ACH Donor Receipting Procedure
ACH Donors will receive yearly receipts from NCF instead of monthly
Many affiliated funds have donors who give monthly donations using ACH withdrawals from their bank account. This is a great way to engage your donors over the long-term and get more people involved in your affiliated fund’s activities.
Beginning January 2011, NCF will process receipts for ACH contributions annually instead of sending a receipt for each monthly contribution. Therefore, donors will receive one receipt for all of their 2011 ACH contributions to your affiliated fund in January 2012.
The receipting procedures for non-ACH contributions remain unchanged. Read about donor receipting procedures at nebcommfound.org » For Affiliated Funds » Tools & Techniques » Affiliated Fund Development » Accounting, Financial Reports & Forms » Donor Receipting Procedures
The receipt issued by NCF is for tax purposes and does not take the place of a thank-you. We recommend that your Fund Advisory Committee send thank-you notes for all contributions received by your affiliated fund.
Please contact the accounting team at (402) 323-7330 if you have any questions.

New Years Resolutions for Fund Advisory Committee Members
Adapted from an article by Gail Perry
Gail Perry and Associates
The New Year brings new opportunities and a chance to renew your commitment to your community and your affiliated fund. Below is a list of resolutions to help make your affiliated fund and your Fund Advisory Committee even more effective in 2011.
MAKE IT HAPPEN in 2011. There’s too much at stake!
Don’t be bystander. Make it happen!
The information on this page was sent as an e-mail message to NCF affiliated fund leaders on January 7, 2011.
Doug and his wife, Judy, made a generous commitment to both the Imperial Community Foundation Fund and the Nebraska Community Foundation. Their gift comes in the form of a life insurance policy – $200,000 to ICFF and $50,000 to NCF – that will benefit both organizations in the future. Doug and Judy make tax-deductible contributions to fund the premiums on the policy, and the policy is owned by NCF for the benefit of ICFF and the NCF Endowment.Read more →
