The Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund was formed during the Summer of 2000 in response to a group of area citizens interested in community improvement.  Our goal is to mobilize charitable giving and to provide a mechanism to support the civic, recreational, cultural, educational and other appropriate needs of the Community. 

Plattsmouth resident, Mrs. Laura "Merle" Atkinson, has designated $180,000 from her estate to create a permanent community endowment for the Community within the Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund.  This substantial gift will have a significant effect on the Community.  The Plattsmouth Community Foundation is very thankful for this individual's generosity.  READ More About This Bequest

The Plattsmouth community Foundation encourages people to give back financially to their community.  Just as important as giving monetarily, is a person giving of their time and talents.  As a way to recognize people who have giving in this way, we are sponsoring a Volunteer of the Year contest.
