Wauneta Community Foundation 

The Wauneta Community Foundation was established in 1996 when the community received a substantial contribution of appreciated stock and cash from the Benkelman/Wauneta Telephone Company (BW Telcom).  The Foundation allows donors to make tax-deductible charitable contributions that will benefit the community of Wauneta, not only today, but for years to come.  A gift to the Wauneta Community Foundation is an opportunity to leave a legacy in the future of the community we love.

Contributions to the Foundation can be used for specific purposes or gifted to be used at the discretion of the Wauneta Community Foundation Board of Directors.  Specific designated funds currently within the Foundation include the Gazebo Project Fund, Gary Goodchuck Scholarship Fund, Effie Engle Memorial Fund and the Professional Building Project Fund.

Past projects of the Foundation include funding for the main street gazebo project, renovation of the Wauneta Scott House, and a grant of $5000 to the Wauneta Senior Center.  In the future, the Wauneta plans to continue researching the Professional Building Project, park improvements and a town clean-up project.
