Paul and Karen Seger have lived in the Atkinson, NE area all their lives. They raised eight children there, owned and operated the funeral homes in Atkinson and Stuart, and served as volunteers and community activists.

Mail Carrier John Daro Uses Gift Annuity to Give Back
John Daro
Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor dark of night ever kept John Daro, a World War II veteran, of Garrison, Nebraska, from delivering the mail for 51 years. John delivered the mail in rural Butler County and those on his route came to depend upon him. Now John has decided to share part of his good fortune by making a gift that allows him to fulfill his goal of giving back to his hometown with a gift to the Nebraska Community Foundation’s gift annuity program.
