A Gift of Life Insurance Brightens Children’s Lives
Several years before her death in 2001, Connie Day of Norfolk had the vision to create an endowment to be funded through a $500,000 life insurance policy. Since 2002, the Connie Fund has invested more than $248,000 in programs that educate, enrich, inspire and protect children in northeast Nebraska. Her endowment has grown to $839,000, and her giving will continue for generations.
Using IRA Distributions to Fund a Gift of Life Insurance

Richard and Darlene Walter utilized a withdrawal from their IRA and the ownership of a life insurance policy to make a generous charitable gift to the Shickley Community Foundation.
“The use of a life insurance policy allows Richard and me to make a much larger future gift to our hometown,” said Darlene Walter.

The Days make charitable contributions to fund the premiums of the policies, and the policies are owned by NCF for the benefit of the NCF endowment and the Norfolk Area Community Foundation Fund.
Gift of Life Insurance to Benefit Imperial and NCF
Doug and Judy Gaswick
Doug and his wife, Judy, made a generous commitment to both the Imperial Community Foundation Fund and the Nebraska Community Foundation. Their gift comes in the form of a life insurance policy – $200,000 to ICFF and $50,000 to NCF – that will benefit both organizations in the future. Doug and Judy make tax-deductible contributions to fund the premiums on the policy, and the policy is owned by NCF for the benefit of ICFF and the NCF Endowment.
