Gifts that will go on for generations
Eugene and Bonnie Martinson
Gifts of Retirement Plan Assets, Wills and Bequests

Eugene and Bonnie Martinson used several gift planning tools to leave a legacy to their hometown of Spencer. Although the Martinsons farmed in South Dakota for 37 years, they considered Spencer, Nebraska, 10 miles south, their hometown. They retired there in 1983 and stayed active in their church and local organizations. Eugene passed away in 2007 and Bonnie in 2008.
Together they gave back to their family, their community and causes they cared about by using beneficiary designations though annuities and an IRA, and through Bonnie’s final bequest.
The Martinsons entrusted NCF’s affiliated fund in Spencer with gifts totaling more than $221,000 to be placed in an unrestricted endowment. Their giving will go on for generations.
