The Nebraska Community
Foundation, with support from the W .K. Kellogg Foundation, hosted the inaugural
Rural Philanthropy Conference February 7-9, 2007 in Nebraska City,

The Nebraska
Community
Foundation is committed to empowering Nebraskans to raise
funds for their own community betterment projects. The Foundation offers
training sessions across the state on topics such as building
public/private partnerships and general fundraising.
The sessions
aim to build community capacity to engage philanthropic giving as a
community betterment strategy; and to educate and train community
activists and financial planners to better understand techniques and
technologies of fundraising.
The following
training sessions are offered for those interested in learning more
about fundraising, planned giving, and the role the Nebraska Community
Foundation can play with community activists and financial planners. For

Fundraiser's
Training Session: Building Community Endowment Funds
This
training empowers the community volunteer to harness the charitable
resources of your community. This training will help you better
understand how to educate community leaders and donors about the
importance of anticipated wealth transfer, how to start, build,
educate, market and manage endowments; and ultimately how to
successfully engage donors in funding endowments through personal
visitation.
