The
Nebraska Legacy Challenge is a state-wide, charitable-giving
initiative of the Nebraska Community Foundation. Announced at
press conference during the Foundation Annual Meeting on November 10,
2000 in Ogallala, Nebraska, The Nebraska Legacy Challenge provides
Nebraska's charitable donors with the means to establish lasting,
self-perpetuating endowments for their communities. Communities
participating in the Legacy Challenge have the assurance that a
permanent funding source will always be available for approved community
betterment projects. The Nebraska Legacy Challenge truly benefits
everyone.
Several
Nebraska Community Foundation affiliated funds have successfully used
this program to build unrestricted endowments: Boone County, Keith
County, Red Cloud, and Shickley.
