The Nebraska Community Foundation works with community, organizational and donor-advised affiliated funds serving 250 communities located in 80 counties. NCF and its affiliated funds have reinvested $269 million in Nebraska since 1994.
Nebraska Community Foundation’s 2016 fiscal year-end report on June 30, 2016 shows continued robust financial growth.
In the past 10 years, NCF and its affiliated funds have grown 17% annually, with total assets quadrupling from $25 million in 2006 to $118 million today.
We are making substantial progress capitalizing endowments and planned gifts to build and sustain our Nebraska hometowns. One key measure of NCF mission fulfillment is the growth of unrestricted endowments in community-based affiliated funds.
In the past four years, community-based unrestricted endowments have more than doubled, from $11.8 million to $24.2 million today. Based on a 4.0% annual payout rate, $969,821 of perpetual discretionary income is now available every year forever to build and sustain our hometowns.
All of these grant investments are determined by volunteer community-based affiliated fund leaders. When our 21 challenge grants, now in progress, are completed, community-based unrestricted endowments will increase by at least another $10 million by 2020. Click here to continue reading.
