Chuck Hibberd

Lincoln, Vice Chair

Chuck Hibberd grew up in Cozad and Lexington before completing degrees in Animal Science at UNL and Oklahoma State University. His career focused on teaching, research, and extension roles in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Indiana.

Hibberd retired June 30, 2020 following 38 years of service. In retirement, Chuck has chosen to follow his passions for rural communities, early stage-high potential teams, and social justice. He serves as Vice Chair for the Nebraska Community Foundation Board of Directors and Board Treasurer for the Lincoln-based Justice in Action organization. In his part-time job with the Extension Foundation, he mentors early stage-high potential Extension teams from across the country.

Hibberd is super proud of his family, his 43-year marriage to Janel, son Matt and spouse Ashley with twin 4-year olds (Claire and Will), and daughter Katie. He claims that he is ‘rural’ as he and Janel live on a small acreage northeast of Lincoln with a large garden, pollinator bed, and over 50 trees.
