Nebraska City | Reflection & Resources
Welcome to your hub for materials, tools, and reflections from our 2026 NCF Board Retreat.
During our time together, we explored both the challenges and opportunities facing our communities. We listened deeply, shared candidly, and reaffirmed a simple truth: lasting impact begins with strong relationships.
What We Reaffirmed
- Build relationships before you need them.
- Prioritize discovery through one-on-one conversations.
- Invite broader participation.
- Ask powerful, generous questions.
- Be curious!
This work is not about adding more to your plate. It is about approaching your existing roles with greater intentionality, curiosity, and connection.
What We Noticed
You modeled reflective leadership throughout the retreat. There was openness to examining assumptions, refining current practices, celebrating what is working, and considering who may be invited to future conversations. That willingness to adapt and grow is one of the greatest strengths of the NCF network.
Together, we unleashed collective energy. We named the abundance in our communities, the promise of emerging leaders, and the power of collaboration across Nebraska. We were reminded that change happens along the lines of relationships, at the speed of trust.
Common Courage is already visible in your community-building practice. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for!
