Partnerships for Innovation Fund

The Partnerships for Innovation is the only statewide entity that brings secondary and postsecondary education institutions together to address future workforce development needs through education. PFI creates value for Nebraska’s career education system.

Directed by a Leadership Council made up of six community college representatives and six secondary school representatives from across Nebraska, PFI is a collaboration of Nebraska’s secondary and postsecondary partners focused on building a better statewide system of Career and Technical Education (CTE) to improve student learning and better meet economic development priorities. PFI will do this by introducing innovation in delivery systems in CTE to include Career Academies, professional development and programs of study with coordinated curriculum between secondary and postsecondary education providers.

School districts, Educational Service Units and Nebraska’s community colleges contribute a percentage of their federal Carl D. Perkins Career & Technical Education funds to support the Partnerships for Innovation. PFI facilitates activities and opportunities for middle, high school and community college faculty and staff. PFI also partners with the Nebraska departments of Education, Economic Development and Labor to ensure the education provided today will meet the employment needs of the future.

The Partnerships for Innovation believes in serving the school districts, ESU’s and community colleges within the statewide Perkins consortium. If you have a need for linking business and education, please contact us to learn how we can support CTE in your community!
