Maggie Smith

Affiliated Fund Development Coordinator

Maggie works from her home office in Albion, Nebraska, connecting affiliated funds in northeast Nebraska to resources, education, and inspiration.  Maggie is passionate about lifting up community volunteers through identifying motivation, strengths and assets already present in and around them.

Born in the rural Pine Ridge area of Nebraska and then growing up in the shadow of Chimney Rock, Maggie loves working with rural communities who are determined to dream big dreams and live them out now. She graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education emphasizing in leadership and international agriculture. Maggie continued her studies in leadership and adult education by obtaining a Master of Science in Leadership Education from UNL while working full time for University of Nebraska Extension in Seward County. She honed skills in community and youth development and a passion for education in non-traditional settings in Seward County and continued to implement them as a Director of Faith Formation and youth minister in Greeley and Wheeler Counties.  Before joining NCF, Maggie gained skills in adaptability, patience and gratitude gardening as a PK-12 music educator and school academic counselor.

Maggie relishes spending time with her husband Rob, as they adventure through life with their four children, Jacob, Luke, Pearl, and Stella.  She enjoys combining music and service whenever possible and supports her community as an archery and robotics project leader with Boone County 4-H.  Maggie’s children say her favorite quotes are, “It’s not hard, it’s just new.” and “What are three things you’re thankful for?”
