Nebraska Community Foundation Annual Celebration Heads to Norfolk Nov. 8

On Nov. 8, Nebraska Community Foundation will host its 2018 Annual Celebration at the Divots Conference Center, DeVent Center, and various locations throughout the Norfolk community. Registrations are being accepted through Oct. 31 here.

Centered on the theme “Unleash. Inspire. Connect.” the gathering will involve hundreds of volunteers across the Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) network which is composed of 220 affiliated funds serving 257 communities in 82 counties.

NCF’s Annual Celebration includes an all-day training aimed at “turning up the dream switches” of community leaders across the state. Sessions will focus on topics critical to the future of rural communities including early childhood development, expanded learning opportunities, homegrown challenge grants, youth engagement, high impact grantmaking, workforce development and more. NCF’s unique training model puts volunteer voices, rather than outside experts, at the center of learning. Peer-to-peer interactions have been the cornerstone of NCF’s philosophy since its inception in 1993. “Just the honest engagement and sharing of ideas and strategies by so many people who are committed to improving our communities,” wrote one 2017 Annual Celebration attendee.

The evening celebration will include a hometown expo and banquet featuring volunteer speakers from communities throughout the state who will talk about their successes at home.

NCF challenges Nebraska community volunteers and leaders to bring their boldest ideas and most ambitious dreams to this year’s Annual Celebration in Norfolk as attendees work together to create the capacity, confidence and competence necessary to build stronger communities and a Greater Nebraska.
