Director of Welcoming and Belonging
Adrian Gomez Ramos is Nebraska Community Foundation’s Director of Welcoming and Belonging, tasked with cultivating a culture of inclusion, belonging, and shared leadership across the NCF network through empowering staff, board members, volunteers, and community leaders to deepen their understanding and practice of inclusive community building.
Prior to joining NCF, Adrian lived in Kearney, Nebraska where he worked at the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce in their Investor Relations role. In his prior work with organizations like Buffalo County Community Partners and HelpCare Clinic, Adrian helped deepen the connections between local businesses and the non-profit/public sector to develop workforce, housing, and childcare initiatives in the Kearney community. He then moved to Lincoln to join Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Center for Student Engagement and Belonging as their Assistant Director of Diversity and Inclusion. This role focused on student success efforts and consulting teams and academic divisions across campus on best inclusive practices. Overall, Adrian leads through invitation, collaboration, and a lifelong learner mindset.
Adrian earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He serves on the Board of Directors for Lincoln Citizen Advocacy, an organization that helps advocates form committed, voluntary relationships with vulnerable people with disabilities in their communities. Outside of the professional world, Adrian enjoys watching and playing soccer, strumming on the guitar, playing the card game Magic: The Gathering (Commander format – one Merfolk tribal deck and another ninjutsu/mech deck with a Phyrexian subtheme… so far), and searching for the freshest pair of Adidas sneakers. Adrian is proud to call Lexington, Nebraska his hometown.
