Shawn Ryba

Affiliated Fund Development Coordinator

Shawn Ryba is the Affiliated Fund Development Coordinator for Southeast Nebraska. Shawn works with volunteer leaders as they work toward realizing their hopes and dreams for their community through relationship building, fundraising efforts, grant writing, and resident engagement.

Shawn brings over 25 years of non-profit experience which includes community building, affordable housing advocacy, placemaking, resident leadership development, and public art. Shawn brings a special affinity and passion for ABCD community development work. He holds two master’s degrees in public administration and social work, both from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

He has held leadership roles with NeighborWorks Lincoln, South of Downtown Community Development Organization, and most recently Big Brothers Big Sisters Lincoln. Proud achievements while at South of Downtown Community Development Organization include being a part of creating Nebraska’s first Community Land Trust and facilitating a community-led master plan for the South of Downtown area in Lincoln.

Shawn currently serves as a board member at the LUX Center for the Arts. He has also served as a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters Lincoln and as a board member at NeighborWorks Lincoln.

His hobbies include traveling, collecting jazz on vintage vinyl, and growing a beard. Shawn is a life-long Nebraskan originating in Columbus and has lived in Lincoln over 20 years with his partner LeeAnn. They have two cats, Ping and Randall.
