The McCook Community Foundation Fund is working to make McCook and Southwest Nebraska an even better place to call home. Since its formation in 2001, the Fund has granted nearly $1 million to community organizations. The grants have benefitted McCook and the surrounding area in many ways, from youth programs to services for the elderly, from education and cultural activities to large and small community projects.
From the beginning, our grants have continued to reflect our focus on people. MCFF has helped young people with scholarships, funded leadership opportunities and promoted healthy families. Additionally, MCFF has developed a focus on arts and culture through programs with the McCook Arts Council, thanks to the generosity during the Sehnert Challenge.
MCFF has taken on additional roles in the community, leading sessions with organizations for their mission, vision and values; restarting the McCook Philanthropy Council with a focus on gift planning; and participating in many community discussions about the future of the community.
