The purpose of the O’Neill Community Foundation Fund is to increase community-based endowed assets, with future grants being awarded from the proceeds of endowments.

The Fund is dedicated to progress and long-term prosperity. A volunteer Fund Advisory Committee works actively to increase charitable giving and award grants to local worthy causes and projects that are addressing emerging needs and future opportunities in our community.

Accounts

  • Chamber of Commerce

    To maintain the green shamrock painted on the public street at the main intersection of downtown O’Neill. This shamrock is to commemorate the annual celebration of St. Patrick’s Day in O’Neill, the Irish Capital of Nebraska.

  • Early Childhood Account

    The purpose of this account is to raise funds to support children’s literacy and early childhood education and development. The initial goal for the Account is to support efforts to periodically provide books of their own to children from birth to age five in the O’Neill area.

  • General

    An account used by the local Fund Advisory Committee to support and maintain the affiliated fund’s activities within the community.

  • North Central Nebraska Performing Arts Program Account

    The purpose of this account is to raise funds to support programming in the performing arts in North Central Nebraska.

  • O’Neill Public Schools Account

    An account to raise funds to help support the curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities of O’Neill Public Schools.

  • O’Neill Law Enforcement Account

    To provide support for public safety and the O’Neill Police Department in O’Neill, Nebraska. The initial goal will be to provide financial assistance to a K9 dog unit of the O’Neill Police Department.

  • Unrestricted Endowment

    A permanent account whose assets are invested to generate an ongoing source of income year after year. Investment earnings from the endowment are used to support community improvements and programs. The Fund Advisory Committee determines how the money generated from the endowment will be used to benefit the community now and in the future.
