Red Cloud established its Fund in 1995 and is now working on several projects and is helping to fund key community needs, including early childhood development programs and heritage tourism development initiatives. The Fund is also considering grants to other projects and areas of community need. These may include downtown revitalization, enhanced recreation, improved housing and infrastructure, and enhanced educational facilities. The Fund now has over $1 million in assets and is annually awarding scholarships and grants to key community needs.

Legacy Endowment
This unrestricted endowment was started with a $100,000 legacy challenge grant offered by former residents Frank and Shirley Sibert. Their gift was successfully matched, creating a $200,000 endowment. Earnings from this fund are granted annually for local causes by the Red Cloud Fund Advisory Committee.

Quasi-Endowed Account
This Account is a quasi-endowment; amounts placed in this account are only those designated as endowed by the Fund Advisory Committee (“FAC”) of the Red Cloud Community. Contributions will be added to the principal of the account, with only the portion allowed by NCF policies available for disbursement.

Red Cloud Area Youth Account
An account to raise funds to support charitable activities related to the engagement and retention of youth and young adults in the Red Cloud area as determined by the Red Cloud Area Youth FAC (the youth philanthropy group of the affiliated fund). Grants will focus on improving the quality of life for youth and young adults in the Red Cloud area.
