What is the Spencer Community Foundation Fund?
The Spencer Community Foundation Fund is a charitable organization working to improve the quality of life and create opportunities for prosperity in the Spencer area. We are an affiliated fund of Nebraska Community Foundation.
We have created an endowment, which is like a community savings account that continues to grow and support community projects, programs, and people.
What does the Spencer Community Foundation Fund do?
The mission of the Spencer Community Foundation Fund is to inspire our community to invest time, funds, and talents, empower local action, and enhance the quality of life for Spencer residents.
Together we will achieve our vision: Spencer is an uplifting and welcoming community that fosters a spirit of enthusiasm, innovation, cooperative participation and inclusiveness.
The Spencer Community Foundation Fund will address the needs of our community and invest in its future by providing a way for our people to give back to their community. We encourage people from all walks of life to make tax-deductible contributions, both large and small.
What is Spencer Community Foundation Fund doing to achieve its goals?
We want to encourage everyone to make a “habit of giving back” to the community. We invite all residents, as well as people who no longer live here but still care deeply about their community to make gifts to our community – both large and small.
Each year, a portion of those contributions are placed in a permanent endowment, which is invested to createa source of funding for annual grants to improve the community. The endowment funds will be held and invested in perpetuity, creating an asset for the community that remains forever.
Some contributions are also used to support community needs such as our swimming pool, senior center, ballfield, rescue unit, community hall, education, and much more.
