Hassebrook joins Nebraska Community Foundation Board of Directors

Chuck HassebrookNebraska Community Foundation is excited to welcome Chuck Hassebrook of Lincoln to its statewide board of directors.

Hassebrook is Director of the Biochar Policy Project of the National Center for Appropriate Technology and works with Sandhill Energy in renewable energy development.

He previously served 36 years with the Center for Rural Affairs of Lyons, Nebraska, including 17 years as its executive director.

Hassebrook was elected three times to represent Northeast Nebraska on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, serving 18 years including two terms as chair. There he championed University support for rural communities and financial aid for students of modest means.

He is a University of Nebraska graduate and a native of Platte Center, where his family has farmed for over a century. He lived most of his life in rural northeast Nebraska and now resides in Lincoln with his wife Kate.
