What projects are you working on this summer with your affiliated fund?
I will be researching the Ford Building in David City for the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art in order to have it registered as a historical site. I will also be doing asset mapping for Butler County so that the Fund has an idea of all that’s available in our area.

Why did you want to take this opportunity to participate in this internship?
I wanted to participate in this internship to get experience in the nonprofit sector. I also thought it would be a really great opportunity to get to know my community better.

How would you describe the experience so far?
So, far I would describe my experience as very educational and enjoyable. Asset mapping of Butler County nonprofits is teaching me quite a bit.

What do you appreciate most about your community?
I appreciate how the Butler County communities come together in times of need and celebration alike to help rebuild/make our county and surrounding area the best that it can be.

What excites you the most when you think about the future of your community?
When I think about the future of Butler County the thing that excites me the most is the youth commitment and involvement to help retain families in Butler County.

What are you looking for in a place to call home?
When I think of a place to call home, I think of communities much like my own where people come together to create successful community events that make everyone feel welcomed.
