What do you love about your community? What are some of its greatest assets?
I love that my community forever stands by and encourages their community members. Diller is filled with amazing people that work hard to build and support each other.

What made you want to pursue an NCF Hometown Internship?
This is my second year as a Hometown Intern. I wanted to pursue this internship again to build connections with other communities as well as other interns. I wanted to continue to give back to the community that helped to raise me into the individual I am today. This internship provides an amplitude of opportunities for personal growth that I value as I move forward in my schooling and career development.

What projects are you working on this summer?
This summer, I am continuing my work with Diller’s Youth Philanthropy. Last year, I designed and implemented a Youth Serviceship Camp where we encouraged youth members of our community to dream about the future and learn how they can make their mark on their own community. This year, we are continuing the camp and finding ways to improve on last year’s success. I am also helping to research information about a possible Big Give event for Diller Community Foundation as well as working on Diller’s Social Media presence and helping restore the Old Diller Bank Museum.

What do you hope to learn or experience?
This summer, I hope to continue to learn more about the Diller Community Foundation Fund and how they play an impactful role in Diller’s success. I also hope to build strong connections with other interns and communities across Nebraska as I may call one of them my home someday.

How would you describe the opportunity so far?
This opportunity has been more than amazing. I am so thankful that I have supervisors that push me to work hard and a community that supports the work we are doing this summer. This summer, I would say that I have a better understanding of my work and a greater passion for Diller compared to last year.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future of your hometown?
My hope for Diller is that it continues to grow and flourish in the future years. I hope to see new community members and more opportunities for people to be involved. Most importantly, I hope that people who come to Diller see how amazing it is and feel welcomed to join the community.

What are you looking for in a place to call home?
When dreaming about the place that I will call home after college, I know that I am looking for an ambitious community that surrounds itself with people who push each other to become amazing individuals. I am looking for a place that grows with their community members and is always willing to make changes and adapt to our ever-changing world.

Could you see yourself living in Greater Nebraska in the future?
Absolutely! I know that in my future, I will settle down in a community in Greater Nebraska. I have grown up in a small town, and I value the experiences that it has given me. After college, I hope to teach in a small town somewhere in Nebraska.
