Nebraska Community Foundation welcomes Amy Sandeen to its team of talented professionals committed to supporting its network of 1,500 volunteers as they build a Greater Nebraska.
Sandeen joins NCF as the organization’s Director of Major Gifts, a role in which she will help individuals, families and businesses make major gifts for the benefit of NCF affiliated funds. Her duties include helping volunteers develop strategies to secure gifts and cultivating and nurturing relationships with donors statewide.
“Amy’s depth and breadth of experience in philanthropy are a welcome addition to the NCF team,” said NCF president and CEO Jeff Yost. “Above all, her passion for rural communities made her an ideal candidate for this new position. We look forward to Amy’s many contributions to our work and growing NCF’s impact across the state.”
Sandeen comes to NCF with extensive nonprofit experience, including 15 years as the executive director for Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor and Agricultural Learning in Hastings. There she designed place-based community engagement programming and developed comprehensive fundraising strategies that prioritized strong donor relationships.
She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands and serves as treasurer on the Humanities Nebraska Council. She has previously sat on boards or committees for the Center for Rural Affairs, Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, the Federation for State Humanities Councils and more. As founder of Roots & Ripples LLC, Sandeen has facilitated customized workshops to enhance capacity growth for many nonprofits.
Sandeen holds a Bachelor of Arts with majors in International Studies, German and Music from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
