Nebraska Community Foundation recently promoted Affiliated Fund Development Coordinators Maggie Smith and Elizabeth Troyer-Miller to Co-Directors of NCF Network Learning. Together, they will lead NCF’s effort to grow peer learning across our statewide network.
Maggie and Elizabeth will co-create new opportunities and avenues for volunteers to connect. This includes reviewing relevant learning materials, implementing educational content, identifying skill development needs, and more. They will also support fellow AFDCs in identifying, recruiting, training, and coaching volunteers.
Volunteers with community-based affiliated funds in the NCF network have unique opportunities to connect with likeminded Nebraskans across the state and share what works in their communities. These leaders serve as peer mentors by sharing what they’ve learned through creating positive change in their own community with peers in neighboring hometowns. These relationships are reciprocal, as all communities grow stronger through exchanging their lessons learned and unique talents.
Elizabeth’s and Maggie’s efforts in these areas will be strengthened by their work as AFDCs. Both will remain in their current roles, with Maggie serving northeast Nebraska affiliated funds and Elizabeth working with volunteers in central Nebraska. Troyer-Miller joined the NCF team in January 2024, and Smith joined in April of the same year.
